Since having children breakfast is by far my favourite meal of the day. I need that fuel to set me up for the lengthly fast paced day day ahead. I'm not one for cereal and milk, I'm much more of a fruit and yoghurt type of person if I'm in a rush, or, if I have a little time then avocado on toast with poached eggs, or, a fruit smoothie bowl with lots of health delicious toppings.
How could I not share one of my longstanding favourite spots for breakfast. In actual fact The Electric hits the spot for every meal in my opinion, breakfast, lunch or diner and/or cocktails. The Electric has grown with me over the years. Gosh, I loved this place pre-babies and settled life, but honestly, I love it just as much now. On the rare occasion we get a moment for a mid-week breakfast date Glenn and I happily sneak out without the children, we eat too much and drink lots of coffee and have a chat which usually revolves around work stuff, having said that, it's not a problem to bring the kids and they love it too. Request a booth, don't be put on one of their crammed tables at the back where you have no privacy, I couldn't even imagine sitting there with a child or two. My nerves would be on complete edge. I don't like sitting on top of other diners while i'm eating, even with another adult, the thought of having to restrict my conversation whilst paying for the pleasure never seems fair.
What I love is they are not too cool, too American or too French to do a full English breakfast. And, they do it well. The quality of the produce is first class and the atmosphere is exciting, busy without being to much, and you can happily find yourself absorbed and entertained by the eclectic Notting Hill crowd.
