How is it September already? 'I already miss you summer'. Although there are a few sunny days forecasted, we can start to pack away the summer wardrobe, picnic blankets and forget long, lazy evenings in the summer sun. As much as it would be lovely to have longer summers and shorter winters there is something to be said for living somewhere that we can experience four very distinct seasons. It's the one thing that i'm reminded to embrace by my father who now lives in California, it's a part of living in the UK he misses terribly.
I quite like autumn. We can still be outdoors and we see lots of changing colours in nature. Autumn tends to be linked to beautiful falling leaves in all types of golden, burnt orange and brown tones. This is the part of autumn that I love, kicking leaves and buying a coffee along the way to warm up and keep my hands warm. It isn't often that we associates autumn with beautiful blossoming flowers in many delightful colours. We have found the perfect little walk through some gated gardens in Hyde Park next to the Albert Memorial that showcases the most stunning autumn flowers.
As we walked through, we collected the 'best' stones we could find, admired the pretty colourful blooms and I emptied stones from Gabriella's shoes every other minute. Gabriella scooted whilst I enjoyed a coffee and had a moment to think about the week ahead.
It actually feels quite nice to layer up and wear the season's first knitwear purchases and head out and about in the park for a few hours. There's nothing more comfy and stylish than a cream chunky jumper with lots of texture with some jeans.
